'WWE 2K17' release date with more realistic visuals in October 2016

(Facebook/WWEgames)"WWE 2K17" is rumored to feature improved visuals compared to the current "WWE 2K16" (pictured).

WWE 2K17 is arriving this October, and reports reveal that it will refresh the current WWE with improved visuals. The 18th installment in the WWE video game franchise is rumored to arrive during the last week of October just like the last three "WWE 2K" installments.

The latest financial report from the game distributor does not reveal what platforms "WWE 2K17" will be compatible with. Currently, the report states "TBA." This has led many fans to suspect that the wrestling video game will only be released for the current generation of consoles — the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. If proven to be true, "WWE 2K17" will be the first game not made available to the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360.

Although game details for "WWE 2K17" have not yet been released, it seems that the upcoming game will launch with an impressive lineup of wrestlers. According to the latest reports, the roster will include the likes of AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura, both of whom signed contracts with WWE earlier this year.

Fans have also expressed desire in seeing a special edition of the game dedicated to iconic female wrestler Chyna, who passed away last April. It would be similar to what 2K Sports will be doing with its other franchise — "NBA 2K." They will release the "NBA 2K17 Legend Edition" to commemorate the career of NBA legend Kobe Bryant.

"WWE 2K17" is also expected to come with more realistic visuals. Several WWE Superstars have reportedly been rescanned by 2K Sports. According to Cageside Seats, wrestlers Sheamus, Dean Ambrose, Big Show, and Alberto Del Rio missed a Smackdown event because they were in Los Angeles for rescanning.

Last March, Pixelgun Studio also announced on Facebook that they had been working with 2K and WWE. The studio released photos of Brie Bella and Bray Wyatt who underwent 3D scanning. Then, in April, wrestler Alundra Blayze/Madusa revealed on Twitter that she had been scanned. However, when asked whether she would be included in "WWE 2K17," the wrestler only replied with "I hope so."

It remains to be seen whether these WWE Superstars will be made playable at launch or whether they will be released as DLC characters.

More "WWE 2K17" updates and news should arrive soon.
