WWE rumors 2016: Randy Orton calling it quits following 'SummerSlam' match versus Brock Lesnar?

Randy Orton is linked to retirement rumors and his swan song might be the recently announced match he will have next month at "SummerSlam" versus former World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) world heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar.
Last Thursday on "SmackDown," it was revealed that Orton will be Lesnar's opponent in the biggest event of the summer. This is huge for the Apex Predator who is coming off a serious shoulder injury that sidelined him since late last year.
Orton's recent injury is also the reason why people are questioning his mortality when it comes to competing. Because of the previous health setbacks the 36-year-old suffered, some are wondering how long he can continue wrestling.
Besides this, Orton is going against Lesnar who is brutally physical everytime he steps inside a WWE ring. This is a gamble since he is just recovering from a shoulder woe that placed him on the shelf for months.
However, in a podcast speaking to WWE Hall of Famer Booker T, Orton admitted that he had always wanted to work with Lesnar. Now, he is getting the opportunity at "SummerSlam" although only a few expect him to walk out victorious.
Last Saturday at Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 200, Lesnar defeated Mark Hunt via a unanimous decision in his return to mixed martial arts (MMA). The Beast Incarnate did it in a dominating fashion, taking down Hunt a number of times and going for the ground and pound. It was an impressive victory considering that Hunt is the no. 8 heavyweight contender in the world and Lesnar's last fight before the match was way back in 2011.
Because of Lesnar's win inside the octagon, the WWE will likely book him to triumph at "SummerSlam." That is a bad comeback for an elite-level wrestler like Orton, but it must be done for the storyline.
