Xiaomi Mi 4c: Newest flagship packs powerful specs for only $200

Xiaomi unveiled their newest flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi 4c, during their scheduled event last Sept. 22.

The Xiaomi Mi 4c is an updated version of the company's previous offering, the Mi 4i. The newest smartphone comes with a new processor and improved camera specs, among many other new features.

The newest flagship features a 5-inch Full HD IPS with Sunlight display, a 1080 x 1920 screen resolution and 441 ppi pixel density. The smartphone is housed in a unibody polycarbonate shell and comes in five colors – white, grey, pink, yellow and blue.

The smartphone is powered by a 6-core 1.8 GHz 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 MSM8992 processor and an Adreno 418 GPU. The $200 entry-level model comes with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory. The upgraded model comes with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory  and will cost about $235.

The rear camera of the Mi 4c has 13 MP with Phase Auto Detection Autofocus and dual-LED flash while the front facing camera has a 5 MP wide-angle lens.

The Mi 4c is also the first Xiaomi device to feature the reversible USB Type-C port. The device is backed by a non-removable 3,080 mAh battery with Quick Charge 2.0 that allows for faster charging times. The device also has dual-SIM standby and 4G LTE capabilities.

The smartphone comes preloaded with the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS out of the box.

Xiaomi's latest device also features Edge Tap. Edge Tap allows users to wake the device by tapping the screen twice. While using the front camera, they can also tap once to take a selfie. While using the browser, users can also tap twice to go back a page. The Mi 4c also has infrared that allows users to use their smartphone as a remote control. The set-up is easily done in just three steps.

The newest Xiaomi flagship device is now available for purchase in its home country, China, and will also be available for the Indian market.
