Xiaomi Mi 5 AnTuTu benchmark test score is high

With Xiaomi overtaking Apple in China and selling more smartphones, it is no surprise that the budget handset maker is working on releasing the Mi 5 soon. The device which has creeped up in a number of rumors since the beginning of the year, will be the flagship from Xiaomi this year. And the most recent tid bit about it which surfaced on the Internet revealed that it has already outscored the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge in the AnTuTu benchmark test.
As soon as the test result surfaced on Internet and was picked up by a variety of sites, GSMArena was quick to point out that the result could be fake. However, given that it only shows a moderate increase in speed compared to the Galaxy flagship this year, it could very well be the real deal. The Mi 5 impressively scored 73,075 against the S6, which had a score of around 70,000 in the same test.
Along with the result, several speculations about which chipset is at the heart of the Mi 5 also emerged and some immediately pointed toward the upcoming Snapdragon 820. But since the Mi 5 is due to be released this year and the new chipset from Qualcomm will not be ready for release until next year, it appears that Xiaomi has used a different chipset.
Since the Mediatek Helio X20 is already available, many think that the Mi 5 might contain this particular new 10 core CPU that has been compartmentalized into three major divisions. As it is no secret that the Snapdragon 810 has been plagued with overheating problems, which until now, have not been resolved on several devices, it is unlikely that it will be used in the upcoming Mi 5.
GSMArena states that the TENAA certification for its bigger sibling, the Mi 5 Plus, which has a 5.7-inch display, revealed an octa-core CPU, which indicates that the Snapdragon 820 will find its way to both devices.
The Mi 5 is expected to have a 5.3-inch display and 4 GB of RAM.
