Chinese electronics company Xiaomi has finally launched its Redmi Note 3 in the Indian market. According to a report by Android Central, the device was unveiled during an event in New Delhi wherein the company revealed that the starting price tag of the handset is Rs 9,999 ($146).

Xiaomi also revealed that the Indian version of the Redmi Note 3 has two variants. One variant is the base model with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory storage. The other variant is packed with 3 GB of RAM paired with 32 GB of internal memory and has a price tag of Rs 11,999 ($176).

The rest of the specs of the device are the same for each variant. As detailed in The Indian Express, the Redmi Note 3 sports a 5.5-inch full HD with Sunlight Display. What makes the handset unique is that it also comes with a special reading mode that turns the screen all yellow. This allows night readers to easily read even without light on as it blocks out all the harsh blues.

The device flaunts an all-metal body and is designed with rounded edges along the sides. Tech 2 reported that when the handset is turned around, the rear side has a resemblance to the Meizu Pro 5. Regardless, the Redmi Note 3 is equipped at the back with a 16-megapixel camera and a round fingerprint scanner located below it. It also has a dual LED flash. The front has a 5-megapixel camera.

Under the hood, one will find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 chipset with hexacore CPU and Adreno 510 GPU. It is also equipped with two Cortex A72 CPU cores running at 1.8G Hz and four low-end Cortex A53 cores running at 1.4 GHz. It is pre-installed with the Android 5.1 OS topped with the MIUI 7 skin. It is powered with a non-removable 4050mAh Li ion battery and it supports dual-SIM.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 will be initially available by March 9 on Mi website and e-portal Amazon.com, as noted in Business Standard.
