Google's much-anticipated Android Lollipop is slowly but surely being rolled out to smartphones worldwide, and users of Nexus, HTC and more are wondering when it's their turn to get the Android 5.1 OS.

Google's Android 5.1 Lollipop is said to be coming out some time in the last week of February, but it's not coming out all at once. Smartphone users are going to have to wait for when their particular phone is getting the OS.

Nexus users will be the first to receive the Lollipop 5.1 when it comes out in February. Hopefully the update fixes issues with the Wi-Fi connection, the minor bugs that have been plaguing the system, the huge chunk of memory the previous update is taking up from the phones and more.

The Nexus 9 tablet and Nexus 6 smartphone will get the Android 5.1 out of the box, while the Nexus 7 devices already have the Lollipop 5.0.2, with confirmation of a further update still being waited on. Nexus phones operating with the KitKat 4.4.4 also have to wait and see if they'll get the Android 5.0 and eventually the 5.1.

As for LG users, the new G3 handset and other handsets in Poland were the first to get the Android 5.1, with other markets still waiting for their turn for an update. There's no word yet for those in the United Kingdom and their G3 models though, especially when earlier reports stated that they would get the Android 5.1 last year around November and early December.

When it comes to HTC users, the company announced in the first week of November that they already received the Android Lollipop code, according to IT Pro. They also confirmed plans to launch the updates to the HTC One M8 and M7 within 90 days, which puts a launch date some time this month until February. The date of the update for other HTC phones is expected to follow after the first two.

Motorola, on the other hand, was able to get the update code quickly, especially given their dedication to using Android on their devices. The first to get the Android 5.1 updates are the first and second generation phones of both the Moto G and Moto X, with the Moto E, Droid Ultra, Droid Mini and Droid Maxx to follow. All of them are set to receive it February at the earliest with a handy-dandy web page to help check the updates.

If things pan out for the Android, hopefully a majority, if not all, of the smartphones will have the Android 5.1 Lollipop come the end of summer.
