'Attack On Titan' season 2 release date, plot spoilers: When will Eren's story continue?

(Facebook/ShingekiNoKyojin.SNK)"Attack on Titan" season 2 will reportedly be released in 2017.

Fans of "Attack on Titan" are disappointed that the release of the second season of their favorite Japanese anime series has been postponed once again. Spoilers reveal that Eren's story will not push through this year but will probably be released in early 2017.

According to Tech Times, manga publisher Kodansha confirmed that season 2 is impossible to happen this year, as they do not want the anime to "jump ahead of the manga." The Japanese book publishing company reportedly still does not have enough materials in the manga at the moment to support the anime.

The "Attack on Titan" anime series was first introduced in 2013 and received a lot of positive response from anime aficionados. If the 2017 release is indeed true, it will take four years of waiting time before the fans learn what happened to Eren, Mikasa and Armin as they face the colossal, man-eating Titans.

Kodansha allegedly wanted to stick to the manga storyline as much as possible and did not want to incorporate original plots just to push through with season 2. Enstarz, however, posits that the manga material is plenty enough, considering the rich storyline left hanging from the first installment. The anime reportedly does not need to have the manga four arcs ahead before production, as it has already "covered a lot of grounds." For instance, the current arc about the Survey Corps' last rally against the Beast Titan and his man-eating giants will most likely end in time for the anime's season 2 premiere.

While waiting for the anime, fans may while away the time by playing the video game version of "Attack on Titan," which includes several new perks. According to Forbes, players will be encouraged to get a copy of "Attack on Titan: Wings of Freedom" once they see the handy freebies that they can use during gameplay. The PlayStation store reportedly offers a selection of avatars, while in Europe, those who buy a copy will receive a box of goodies containing six pin badges, an art book, a muffler towel and the game's soundtrack. They will also get a download code to obtain Armin's special costume.
