'Blue Bloods' news: actress Bridget Moynahan shares thoughts on co-stars and life on set

For a bit, fans were on the edge of their seats wondering if the Reagan family would be back for another season. The last episode of "Blue Bloods" season five ended with such an unsettling feeling that it would be nothing short of a disappointment not to know what happens to the well-loved family. Thankfully, viewers of the show can breathe easy since, the NBC family drama has been renewed for a sixth season.
"Blue Bloods," which first aired in 2010, follows the lives of the Reagan family which consists of mostly police officers. Upon its premiere, it has received positive reviews with ratings averaging 10 million viewers an episode. Its success has led to the show's renewal for five more seasons.
Season five ended in a bitter sweet note where Linda and Hector got shot. While they were both rushed to the hospital, only Linda made it out alive.
Since the season ended in the way that it did, most of the cast and crew have kept mum on what season six has in store. While there is a scarcity of spoilers for the return of "Blue Bloods," an interview with Bridget Moynahan who plays Erin Reagan, has shed light on what it is like to work alongside multiple co-stars.
"I would say that being on this ensemble for this amount of time definitely brings everyone together. You know, we live together for nine months a year, basically, working together," Moynahan said.
"And we spend much time together that people have, you know, gotten sick, have gotten married, have had babies and we kinda all celebrate this different part of life together on weekly basis," said Moynahan in a report with Phil Star.
There is no doubt that "Blue Bloods" season six would focus on how the family will recover from the horrific incident and the new obstacles that they will face.
NBC announced that the upcoming season of "Blue Bloods" will premiere on September 25, so stay tuned.
