'Chicago Fire' season 5 episode 6 preview and spoilers: Dawson runs into pedestrian; will arson end Casey and Severide's friendship?

There's no question that Matthew Casey and Kelly Severide have each other's back, but their recent case might find the two at odds. Meanwhile, a legal problem could cause Dawson to lose everything.
The previous episode of "Chicago Fire" reminded viewers why the TV drama is still popular five seasons in. The episode started with an exciting but chilling look at the dangers first responders face every single day as Lieutenants Casey (Jesse Spencer) and Severide (Taylor Kinney) rush to bring people out of a burning building.
As Severide was trying to save one man, Casey was holding the hand of a woman trapped in the blaze. Unfortunately, she later succumbed to her injuries, leaving the firefighter distraught. Casey was certain that the fire was not an accident and believed the husband to be responsible, a claim that Severide didn't accept.
This difference in opinion could play out again in episode 6, but it seems Severide might help Casey as he continues to investigate the alleged arson case. Meanwhile, Dawson (Monica Raymund) accidentally hits a pedestrian while responding to a call on the field.
A trailer for the upcoming episode, "That Day," shows Dawson hitting a man as she drives the ambulance. A man later arrives at the station and hands Chief Boden (Eamonn Walker) a notice. It appears the man is suing the station $5 million in damages, with $1 million more personally from Dawson.
Aside from the staggering amount the alleged victim is demanding, Dawson also has to contend with the repercussions this will have on her job. A sneak peek hints that the pressure is getting to the paramedic as she's being questioned about the incident. The Chief initially asked her for her speed and, when reminded that she has to be specific, she snaps and starts mentioning a lot of details. Dawson recounts how she had the sirens and lights flashing and how the man suddenly stepped in front of the ambulance "from behind the cover of a van."
Even though Dawson appears to have been following regulations, there's still the fact that charges have been filed. Hopefully, the case would be resolved soon and in a fair fashion.
Episode 6 of "Chicago Fire" season 5 is set to be aired on Nov. 22 at 10 p.m.
