Jimmy Sanguinetti (Tony Crane) may be returning soon to see his daughter in the upcoming episode of "Chicago P.D."

The NBC show is currently on a brief hiatus, but the January episodes are expected to reveal if Lindsay's (Sophia Bush) absentee father is indeed making a comeback or not. Before the break, there have been several indications that Jimmy is heading to Chicago. Lindsay got a bunch of flowers from an unidentified person. When it was traced, they learned the bouquet was sent from east Kansas. That same day, she also got a call, but the other person on the line would not speak to her.

Jesse Lee Soffer, who plays Halstead, previously hinted to TV Fanatic that Lindsay would meet Jimmy soon.

"I don't know if they've written any speed bumps yet. I think the biggest speed bump coming up is Lindsay's father is going to come back to town, come back in her life. That's definitely going to stir up some turmoil and conflict and I really think she's going to have to lean on Halstead a lot in that situation. We'll see what it looks like," Soffer teased.

Halstead finally met Lindsay's mother, Bunny (Markie Post), last episode. Bunny told Lindsay she had something to say to her, but due to an urgent call from the station, she never got to tell her. Spoilers predict it has something to do with Jimmy coming back to town.

Meanwhile, the promo for the next episode shows a two-hour crossover event between "Chicago P.D." and the new series "Chicago Justice." Antonio (Jon Seda) has left intel to join Assistant State Attorney Peter Stone's (Philip Winchester) team. Burgess (Marina Squerciati) will take his place after she was promoted from patrol duties.
