'Criminal Minds' season 10 finale spoilers: pregnant Jennifer Love Hewitt expected to take break from show; team look for Kate's kidnapped niece Meg

Episode 22 of "Criminal Minds" ended in a sensational cliff-hanger where viewers saw Kate's niece, Meg, and her best friend being kidnapped by an online predator. Seasoned watchers of the show may recall that in the premiere episode of season 10, Meg and her friend were almost kidnapped by a sex trafficker posing as a teenaged boy. The same kidnapper is back and this time he is successful.

TVGuide reports that it will be all hands on deck in order to track Meg and her friend before the sex trafficker sells her off. Unfortunately, Kate won't be of much help since she's been put to bed. Needless to say, the finale episode will be extremely emotional and worrisome for the newbie FBI profiler.

CaterMatt reports that Kate Callahan's husband, Chris, will be back on episode 23 to support his stressed and heavily pregnant wife. The action-packed episode will contain all the ingredients of a typical "Criminal Minds" episode and it will be the first time fans will see an in-depth kidnapping story, one in which the girls are sold off rather than tied up in a dungeon.

Showrunner Erica Messer revealed to TVGuide that the show would have a full-circle ending, devoid of any cliff-hangers. Messer shared, "We rarely do (cliff-hangers) anymore. I feel like the finale's a reward for everyone who watched the whole season to feel like we really went out with a bang and to let everyone go out breathing instead of holding their breath."

Viewers can count on Meg being rescued and the season coming to a suitable close. JJ's pregnancy will be revealed to the BAU team with brainy Reid being the first to learn about it. However, rumor mills are guessing that Jennifer Love Hewitt's character might take a break from the BAU or quit the team in the finale on account of the actress' real life pregnancy.

"Criminal Minds" airs its exciting, nail-biting finale on Wednesday, May 6 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
