"Extant" opened its sophomore season with an intriguing episode, one that saw former astronaut Molly Woods confined in a psychiatric hospital. Surprisingly, the premiere also showed John dying after being hit by an oncoming train. What will happen in this week's episode as Molly and JD intensify their investigation?

TVGuide reports that the dynamic duo will discover another pregnant woman who is suffering from the same inexplicable and fatal symptoms. This may provide more answers as the woman's and her baby's lives are threatened.

But things are not going to be easy for a now escaped Molly Woods as she starts to question her own mental stability. The promotional clip also shows David Morrissey's character General Tobias Shepherd searching for Woods when he learns she has escaped from the mental facility. Molly will be on the run from the government apart from solving the investigation. It seems things will get worse before they get better for Halle Berry's character.

Additionally, Julie will struggle with Ethan's rebellious nature. Design & Trend reports that more spoilers, news and speculations will be known about "Extant" once the panel appears at San Diego's Comic-Con. "Extant" will have a big presence next week at Comic-Con, in which Berry will return with her new co-star Jeffrey Dean Morgan alongside executive producers Craig Shapiro and Mickey Fisher.

The panel will discuss and provide an exclusive teaser to show what fans should expect in the upcoming episode of the mystery summer thriller show. Perhaps, Comic-Con attendees will be gifted a rare glimpse into what is to come for Molly Woods. Her character inadvertently put the human race in jeopardy. Now the fate of humanity rests on Woods and a new stranger, JD.

"Extant" premieres its second episode of season two titled, "Morphoses," on Wednesday, July 8 at 10 p.m. EST on CBS.
