Fallout 4 release date: Bethesda Studios to announce 'Fallout 3' at upcoming E3 but not 'Elder Scrolls 6'
Bethesda Studios is set to make its E3 debut this year with its first ever event at the annual video game convention. While Bethesda has not officially announced its plans for the event, fans are hopeful for major announcements involving beloved game franchises such as 'Fallout' and 'Elder Scrolls'. Such an announcement would certainly be worth the effort involved considering that there is still a strong following for those games even without a recently released title.
Details of a potential announcement continues to bring about a great deal of speculation online, but recent comments by a voice actor from 'Fallout 3' has lent credence to the theory that 'Fallout 4' will be announced at historic Bethesda's E3 event. The same kind of confidence cannot be said for a potential 'Elder Scrolls 6', however, as not even a single bit of loose information has been uncovered by the game's rabid fanbase.
Another detail that discourages a potential 'ES6' reveal is the fact that the last Elder Scrolls game, 'Skyrim', was released in 2011 compared to 'Fallout 3' and its 2008 release. Elder Scrolls also released a spinoff game 'Elder Scrolls Online' just last year, and while it is a far cry from the ultra-immersive single player experience that 'Skyrim' provided, it should still be enough to tide the fanbase far longer than the currently barren 'Fallout' franchise.
Of course, should Bethesda not announce an 'Elder Scrolls 6' at E3 this year, that doesn't mean that the company has forgotten about the franchise. The series has made it mark with the kind of detail oriented game design that has brought about its high replayability value, and Bethesda would be wise not to compromise that. Thus, a potential 'ES6' would require plenty of development time if Bethesda wanted to preserve the franchise's legacy of quality game titles.
Whatever the case, Bethesda has planned something big for E3 this year, and its best for fans to simply enjoy the moment rather than lament what could be or could have been.
