'Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location' release date: Scott Cawthon says game is delayed, fans aren't buying it

(YouTube/Scott Cawthon)Rumors continuing to swirl around the upcoming release of 'Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location'

Scott Cawthon has shared new details regarding the release plans for "Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location," and according to him, the eagerly anticipated horror game has been delayed.

In a new post on the game's Steam page, Cawthon revealed his decision to release two different versions of "Sister Location."

According to Cawthon, he will first release a "mature" version of the game. He noted that this "mature" variant of the game will not be a part of the franchise's official timeline.

Cawthon also noted that the more "mature" version of "Sister Location" will be released in multiple sections.

He continued by then revealing that he is planning to release a second version of "Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location" that will be suitable for more players, adding that this will be the version that follows the established lore for the franchise.

Cawthon added that fans will have to wait for at least a few more months before this second version of the game is released.

These recent developments related to the game would seem like they should be incredibly disappointing to the fans, or at least they would be, if fans actually believed that Cawthon really is planning to go through with the dual release plan.

Fans who have commented on the post have hinted that this may just be yet another example of Cawthon trolling the players, with some even noting that this may be his finest trolling effort yet.

However, anyone who visits the game's official Steam page will see that it is still set to be released on Oct. 7 just like before.

In a recent edit of the aforementioned post, Cawthon says, "As most of you have figured out, the game's not delayed, see you Friday."

More details about "Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location" should be made available soon.
