Google Nexus 2016 release date, specs, rumors: Will there be a new brand line?

A new leak for Google's upcoming smartphone, the Google Nexus 2016, was released.
Specifications for the next installment of the Google device were recently revealed, teasing that the smartphone could be released by the end of the year.
However, there are rumors that Google will soon get rid of the Nexus branding and replace it with a new brand line. Currently under the code names Marlin and Sailfish, the two variants of the Google smartphone are expected to take on the brand name Pixel. With that, some believe that the upcoming devices will be called the Pixel and Pixel XL.
Aside from that, they will reportedly use the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system as well as the Snapdragon 820 chip. The new phones are also expected to have the same RAM capacity, which will measure up to 4 GB.
Produced by HTC, the device is expected to have a starting internal storage of 32 GB. The battery life is also rumored to be enhanced since it will now use a 3,450 mAh battery. In addition, the front camera will reach 12 megapixels while the back camera has 8 megapixels.
Many are also expecting Google to incorporate its upcoming Google Home products to the device. In a statement, Google CEO Sundar Pichai explained that they have a lot up their sleeves.
Pichai also expressed his excitement for the future of the series. He revealed: "Looking to the future, the next big step will be for the very concept of the 'device' to fade away. Over time, the computer itself — whatever its form factor — will be an intelligent assistant helping you through your day. We will move from mobile first to an AI first world."
Unfortunately, there has yet to be a release date for the upcoming device. Many are hoping to see it released within a couple of months.
