When "Gotham" season 3 returns on Fox, expect the show to introduce four new Batman villains and a possible appearance of Bane.

The superhero crime drama's executive producer, John Stephens, revealed on Comic Book Resources the four villains that will intensify the plot next season.

"We'll be seeing Mad Hatter in season 3. We'll be seeing the Tweedle Brothers, too, if we're going to bring the Hatter in. In line with the Court of Owls, we'll be seeing Talon. And, we should be seeing Solomon Grundy," he revealed. Stephens also added that the Court of Owls will have a major role in the upcoming season.

According to reports, Talon will most likely be the worst baddie in season 3. Also, Bane, one of Batman's famous villains, might possibly make an appearance after speculations that there were hints dropped in the season 2 finale episode. The last moments of the said episode revealed a villain that looks similar to Bane.

"Gotham" released a new promo photo that intensifies rumors of Bane's appearance next season. In the photo, the villain in the center posed sideways wearing what looked like a breathing apparatus that Bane is known for. Fans may have to wait more until the series confirms these speculations.

Aside from Bane, Joker is also rumored to return next season. It can be remembered that he was introduced last season, but he eventually died. However, in the finale, there was a familiar laugh in the background that resembles to that of Joker's.

As for James Gordon's future, actor Ben McKenzie revealed on Indie Wire what fans can expect from his character. "Our goal in season 3 is to continue to push," McKenzie said. "Gordon is capable of doing even worse than killing Theo Galavan in cold blood, and we will see that in future seasons."
