'Grimm' season 5 spoilers: Nick warns Capt. Renard that war is coming; Trubel appears to be injured in episode 2, 'Clear and Wesen Danger'

"Grimm" season five has finally returned and based on reviews, the premiere was still suffering from the writing issues that plagued it last season. On a good note, episode one picked up the pace and set the stage for what's coming this season. Unfortunately,a trailer for episode two seems to indicate that Trubel is in serious trouble.

Season five picked up seconds from where last season's finale left off, with an unknown group bursting into Detective Nick Burkhardt's (David Giuntoli) house, drugging him and kidnapping Trubel (Jacqueline Toboni).

The episode, titled "The Grimm Identity," tried to wrap up some of the loose ends from last season while laying the foundation for the alleged Wesen uprising that's about to happen. While it was able to succeed in some areas, the episode still had that rushed, overreaching feel to it, what with the Grimm trying to get answers from Chavez (Elizabeth Rodriguez), rushing to Adalind's (Clair Coffee) side while she gives birth and then rushing back to take up Chavez' one-time only offer of meeting her secret group.

But the general consensus was that the supernatural series did well, returning to NBC for another season on Oct. 30 with four million viewers tuning in for the premiere. While the numbers are decent, it was admittedly lower than what the previous seasons of "Grimm" brought.

Hopefully, the ratings will go up and more fans will tune in by the time episode two comes around, especially since things appear to be picking up.

This was certainly evident in the trailer for the upcoming episode as Nick talks to Capt. Renard (Sasha Roiz) and warns him that war is coming and that they have to prepare. A scene of a bloodied bathroom and people (or Wesen) attacking civilians are hint at the danger coming to Portland. But what certainly worried fans was the last scene, as a bloodied Trubel stumbles out and is recognized by Nick.

A synopsis for episode two, intriguingly titled "Clear and Wesen Danger," states that Nick has to make some big changes to ensure that baby Kelly and Adalind are safe. But now it seems that everyone in Portland as to prepare for what is coming.

Another episode of "Grimm" season five is set to air on Nov. 6 on NBC.
