'Grimm' season 6 spoilers, release date: how will the Nick and Renard face-off end?

The two-hour finale of "Grimm" season 5 was so action packed and fast paced that it more than made up for some of the season's low points.
So many things happened in the "Grimm" season 5 finale that it's difficult to know where to start. There was the showdown between Nick (David Giuntoli) and Renard (Sasha Roiz), the Grimm meeting and being tortured by Bonaparte (Shaun Toub) in a Wesen-controlled police precinct, and Eve (Bitsie Tulloch) taking a big shard of glass to the gut. Fans also saw Meisner (Damien Puckler) put up a spectacular fight only to be killed by Bonaparte. Nick also healed Eve with the mysterious stick, and in so doing, seemed to have brought back Juliette. The stick also brought Nick back from the dead when he took several bullets to the chest while fighting off Black Claw's attack. But amid all the death and danger, viewers were given a tiny ray of happiness — Rosalee's (Bree Turner) pregnant.
The finale ended with Nick and Renard in shock after Portland's new mayor drove a sword through Bonaparte's heart. Unfortunately for Renard fans, it was his daughter's doing and not because the half-Zauberbiest wanted to help the Grimm.
This certainly sowed the seeds for an intense sixth season, made even more crucial by the possibility that it could be the show's last. Showrunners David Greenwalt and James Kouf recently revealed to TV Line that "everything is still in play" next season.
"It's kind of a new world," explains Kouf. "There has been so much damage done to both sides and with what the stick does, it opens up other doors to what the hell is going on in our world."
Because of that, season 6 will reportedly pick up right where the finale left off, with Nick and Renard in a tense face-off. While Giuntoli has several scenarios in mind of how the scene will play out, he also admitted that they haven't shot the second part of that cliffhanger.
Another thing that Giuntoli is unsure about is how Nick will react to Juliette's feelings being resurrected in Eve. But he did admit to Entertainment Weekly that the reaction that Eve had to the stick is in the back of Nick's mind.
One thing that "Grimm" fans are undoubtedly excited about is Rosalee and Monroe's (Silas Weir Mitchell) relationship. The couple has long been a favorite among fans and a baby is something that a lot of viewers have been waiting for.
It's unclear how long fans would have to wait though before "Grimm" season 6 returns, but based on the show's history, an October premiere date is highly likely.
