'Grimm' season 5 episode 5 spoilers: Trubel ends up in hospital, Nick confronted with 20-foot rat
"Grimm" is taking a short break this week, presumably to give way to the Thanksgiving and the Black Friday rush. But that hasn't stopped fans from talking about the giant rat that Team Grimm will be facing when the show returns. There's also some chatter from fans about Nick and Adalind's home life and the short glimpse they were given of Trubel.
Fans won't be getting their "Grimm" fix this week but the show made sure that they left viewers with a lot to think about after the events of episode 4. In the episode "Maiden Quest," one skeezy bar owner/ small-time crime lord was menaced by Wesen who were on an apparent quest. While the ancient quest gave some interesting insight into Wesen culture and might have hinted at the rumored Wesen uprising, it was overshadowed by scenes of Nick (David Giuntoli) and Adalind (Claire Coffee) trying to co-parent their son Kelly. The two were seen trying to figure out if the baby is colicky and even sharing some of their own experiences growing up.
The forced truce between the two previous enemies is understandable, given that they have no choice for the sake of their child. But some are already commenting on the awkward nature of the relationship and the living arrangements. However, fans quickly forgot about that with that final scene of Trubel (Jacqueline Toboni) stumbling in Nick's arms.
In a synopsis for episode 5, Nick takes Trubel to the hospital. The Grimm also apparently meets Meisner (Damien Puckler) and faces off against the Rat King. Fans know the former is a member of the Resistance; while the latter is something that will make its appearance in the upcoming episode, aptly titled "The Rat King."
A sneak peek of episode 5 shows just what Nick, Hank (Russell Hornsby) and the rest are facing. The clip starts with Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) skeptical about the existence of a "20 foot ratzilla." Nick doesn't look like he believes it either while Hank reveals that he doesn't like rats. But they're all proven wrong as in one scene, Rosalee (Bree Turner) points at something and a rat that towers over them is seen. Nick tells everyone to run and says they "need a pretty big trap." Hank shoots at it but bullets don't seem to harm the giant rat.
"Grimm" season 5 will be back with a new episode on Dec. 4.
