'Hawaii Five-O' season 7: Kono and Adam reconciliation, Catherine returns

Fans of the show "Hawaii Five-O" have to wait until fall for the season 7 to premiere, but, while not much is revealed about the plot, showrunner Peter Lenkov has shared that Kono (Grace Park) and Adam (Ian Anthony Dale) are in for a reconciliation and that Catherine will be back.
Kono and Adam's relationship story arc is one of the subplots many viewers have been interested in. Attraction between them has been apparent since Adam's introduction in season 2, but his past and Kono's dedication to her job created many bumps in their relationship.
The road to their marriage was long and winding, but what could have been a happy reunion encountered another bump on the night of their honeymoon. In the season 5's finale, Adam was sentenced to two years in prison.
Although there is no confirmation about a time jump, Adam is said to get out of jail in the next season. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Lenkov said, "Some of that erodes when there's distance. Especially being in prison, your mind starts to wander and you start to question things. But their relationship is in a healthy place, I just think that they're going to need to get to know each other again when he comes out." He added, "But I think she will trust him."
Meanwhile, fans were expecting the reunion of another pair in season 5 when news about Catherine's (Michelle Borth) return came out. They have been wanting to see how Steve (Alex O'Loughlin) would react when he sees her, but she was only featured briefly to the dismay of many viewers.
Lenkov told TV Guide that Catherine's return is definitely in the plot, but fans may have to wait as he said, "She's still part of our show … The idea is to push that story line until next year."
