'Home Alone' actor Macaulay Culkin pokes fun at death hoax suggesting he is dead

News of actor Macaulay Culkin's death went all over the internet, saying that the former 'Home Alone' child actor had died on Nov. 8. Fortunately, the report was untrue, with Culkin even poking fun at the hoax through his social media posts.

To paint some fun on the obviously false tales, Culkin paid a humorous homage to the movie 'Weekend at Bernie's' and posted a photo of himself playing dead while a friend carried his body.

Using the account of his band, Pizza Underground, which plays parody songs of the Velvet Underground replacing song texts with pizza-related lyrics, Culkin captioned the photo: "Weekend at bernies with @anchovywarhol #greenroom," dated Nov. 8, at 11: 22 PM.

Culkin posted another photo of himself holding a drink bottle, saying "We're on tour you silly people / @anchovywarhol's"

The death ploy stated that Culkin was found lifeless in his Manhattan apartment. The hoax further added that the apartment looked "clean," and that there were no signs of an attack or intrusion.

Fans of the star quickly reacted on Twitter, posting their sentiments and condolences online.

"Can't believe this. Remember going up town with my dad to watch Home Alone in the cinema. RIP Kevin xx," said one user named @JackGrooves.

"Oh no Macaulay Culkin is dead man, I loved the film Richie Rich," wrote another user.
