With the release of the HTC One A9 it became clear that company wanted to capitalize on the popularity of the iPhone 6s and offer a similar looking device at a lower price. However, most of the differences between these two devices lie under their bodies and here is how they fare in a comparison.

Design

In this category, there is a lot of similarity between the iPhone 6s and its competitor. The device from Apple has a metal body made from 7000 series aluminum which makes it less prone to bending and it edges are rounded. There is a fingerprint scanner incorporated into the home button and the device comes in four colors rose gold, silver, gold and gray. Coming to the HTC One A9, it too has a metal body and its antenna lines are placed on its rear which means it looks just like an iPhone; however, the camera is positioned differently and towards the middle. Its fingerprint scanner is also incorporated into its home button and as for colors there are four to choose from garnet, gray, silver and gold.

Display

Here, the iPhone 6s has an edge as it has 3D Touch technology included in its screen that senses the amount of force being applied to it. However its IPS LCD screen is smaller than that of its competitor and measures 4.7 inches with a resolution of 750 x 1334 pixels and density of 326 pixels per inch. As for the One A9 it has a 5.0 inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and density of 441 pixels per inch.

Specs

When it comes to hardware, the iPhone 6s is faster and has an Apple A9 chipset, coupled with a CPU with two cores and a PowerVR GT7600 GPU. As for its competitor it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 chipset, coupled with an octa-core CPU and an Adreno 405 GPU.

Memory

There is no memory slot on the iPhone 6s while the HTC One A9 supports up to 200 GB. Coming to RAM, the device from HTC either has 2 GB or 3 GB while its competitor has 2 GB.

Camera

The iPhone 6s comes with a 12 megapixel camera and is currently described as "solid and compelling" by DxOMark which ranks it at number eight. As for the HTC One A9 it has a 13 megapixel camera with OIS and cannot keep up with its competitor.

Price

In terms of pricing, the iPhone 6s costs $199 with a two year contract, while the HTC One A9 currently costs $400 unlocked.
