'Longmire' season 5 spoilers, plot speculations: Are Walt and Vic headed for a happy ending?

(Facebook / Longmire)Netflix has renewed "Longmire" for a fifth season, which is reported to premiere in fall.

Filming for "Longmire" season 5 is reportedly coming to an end, but reports also suggest that the upcoming season would be the show's last. With the possibility high, viewers are wondering if Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) and Vic Moretti (Katee Sackhoff) will finally be together.

One of the major differences between the source material and the series is the relationship between Walt and Vic. In the novel, the two figure in a relationship sometime after working together, and, in the series, the two have never yet been in one.

Viewers of the series are torn between wanting a relationship between the two characters as the others feel the age gap between them makes it inappropriate for a romantic relationship to exist. They have been showing great concern for each other, however, and, in some scenes, teased to be feeling something for each other.

Talks about season 5 being the last for the show have been making the rounds, but Netflix has yet to comment on the issue. At the moment, Walt seems to be getting close to Donna (Ally Walker), and season 4 finale has shown them getting intimate until an intruder arrives.

It remains to be seen who the intruder is, but many believe it is Donna's son, Andrew. It has also been reported that Walt will treat Andrew as his own as his relationship with Donna deepens. Recent rumors suggest that as he builds a new relationship, he will come to realize that he has long fallen in love with Vic.

"Longmire" season 1 to season 3 were aired on A&E, but, after it was canceled, Netflix picked up the show for season 4. All 10 episodes premiered in September, and, in October, Longmire announced the renewal for season 5 via Facebook posting, "We've never been one to back down from a fight. Longmire will return to Netflix for Season 5."

"Longmire" season 5 will premiere in the fall.
