MacBook Pro 2016 release date rumors: previously rumored Q3 launch now more probable after WWDC no-show

Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2016 has concluded, and while the event introduced people to a bunch of new and potentially very useful offerings, it also ended up not featuring some previously expected products such as the MacBook Pro 2016.

Leading up to the event, there were rumblings that the laptop would be one of the few pieces of new hardware that would actually be shown off, but that obviously did not take place.

So now that WWDC 2016 is no longer going to be the platform for the new laptop's anticipated launch, when exactly can people expect to see it for the first time?

Just last month, a note from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo that was obtained by Apple Insider indicated that the MacBook Pro 2016 may not be released until later this year.

Specifically, Kuo indicated that the new laptop may not be released until around the fourth quarter of 2016.

Furthermore, Techno Buffalo also noted that Apple may be waiting on Intel's Kaby Lake processors prior to them making a new laptop available.

Those new Intel processors are similarly not expected to arrive until the latter part of 2016, so if Apple really is waiting for them, then the MacBook Pro 2016 likely won't be announced for at least a few months.

Pinning down a more specific release date for the new laptop is difficult to do, since it hasn't exactly had an established product cycle like other Apple products.

The new laptop could make a surprise appearance alongside the iPhone 7 in September if Apple wants to just keep their upcoming releases all contained within one event.

Apple may also follow the launch pattern of the MacBook Pros that were featured in 2015 by releasing new models in March and May, effectively establishing a more defined product cycle in the process, though that would of course mean that people will have to wait until next year to see the rumored laptop.

More news about the MacBook Pro 2016 should be made available in the near future.
