'Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite' release date, gameplay trailer: Infinity Stones add depth to the fighting game; Morrigan and Captain America join in the clash

During the PlayStation Experience (PSX) 2016 in Anaheim, California, fans were pleasantly surprised that finally, the long-awaited team up is going to happen again with the advent of "Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite." Two of the largest collections of fighting heroes will once again do battle in an epic crossover like no other.
The gameplay trailer revealed during the PSX 2016 gives glimpses of some of the fan favorites in each side. Marvel is represented by Iron Man and Captain Marvel, while Capcom brings a good fight with Ryu and Mega Man. Noticeably, the two-against-two battles return but this time, the visuals and cinematic effects are a lot tighter than before.
A more exciting reveal in the clip is how Marvel lore's Infinity Stones can change the tide of battle. Ryu can be seen using the Power Infinity Stone, which probably raises the damage done by his attacks, while Captain Marvel employs the Time Infinity Stone, making her faster than her opponent.
In a recent clip, Morrigan and Captain America also plunge into the jaw-dropping skirmish. The two heroes are known to be staple characters in Marvel and Capcom arcades, so it will be interesting to see who else will be joining in the massive fight.

Capcom director of Digital Media and eSports Neidel Crisan is very happy to announce the re-established partnership between Marvel and Capcom. Crisan mentions on a PlayStation blog post that the collaboration will bring forth iconic heroes from both universes, cinematic story that can be appreciated via single-player content, vast multiplayer features and added depth through the Infinity Stones. This is on top of the expected Arcade, Training, and Mission modes.
"In addition to single player Arcade, Training and Mission modes, a visually stunning and immersive cinematic Story Mode will put players at the center of both universes as they battle for supremacy against powerful forces and a new villain," Crisan said.
What's interesting is the last phrase he mentioned. Who is this villain going to be? Since Infinity Stones make a debut in the title, one can argue that Thanos is a possible candidate for the ultimate boss in the game. Considering Marvel's "Avengers: Infinity War" is airing my May 4, 2018, the game could be a great primer for its publicity.
Nonetheless, fans will have to wait in amazement for the upcoming game. "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" will be fighting its way into game consoles by late 2017.
