Since Dwyane Wade left the Miami Heat, they were linked to a number of big names that could compensate the loss of their franchise superstar. Now, the Los Angeles Clippers' Blake Griffin is the latest player connected to the organization. 

Similar with the Heat, Griffin is a favorite in trade or free agency talks this off-season. He was already mentioned in rumors that featured the likes of the Boston Celtics and Oklahoma City Thunder. 

But perhaps the best destination for Griffin is in South Beach.

In a report by The Inquisitr, it was stated that Griffin could be a top target for the Heat and their president Pat Riley in next year's free agency. 

It was mentioned that trying to make Griffin leave Lob City would be hard, but if there is a man who could pull it off, it is Riley - the same person who made LeBron James leave Cleveland in 2010 to be in Miami. 

Adding Griffin will not be a walk in the park for the Heat. It is certain that once he enters free agency, teams will line up just to schedule a meeting with him. Besides this, the Clippers can be expected to remain on top of the 27-year-old's list. But if Miami can put up a great presentation and an enticing offer, perhaps it will be a frontrunner for the explosive forward. 

The acquisition of Griffin could quickly make the Heat legitimate contenders in the Eastern Conference. The franchise can build around him and perhaps center Hassan Whiteside as it moves forward. 

As of the moment, with All-Star Chris Bosh facing a health setback, the Heat do not look like a formidable squad. This is despite the additions they had this off-season like Dion Waiters, Luke Babbitt, James Johnson and Derrick Williams. Miami needs a star who could help it turn the table and Griffin might be the answer.
