Jennifer Garner has gone back to her Christian roots, thanks to her soon-to-be released movie, "Miracles from Heaven."

Returning to her Christian roots means taking her children to church every Sunday and being more open about her faith.

The actress said that she used to go to church while growing up, but stopped when she moved to Hollywood.

In an interview on "Good Morning Texas," she said that going to church in Hollywood seemed strange because it was not part of the same culture she grew up in. She was quick to add, however, that it didn't mean that she lost her previous self.

She thanked the film, saying that it became an avenue for her to talk to her kids about faith and the starting point to get her and her kids back to their local Methodist church.

Meanwhile, in an interview with Vanity Fair, the actress revealed that she has been suffering from insomnia since her 10-year marriage to Ben Affleck ended in a divorce. She shared that her 10-year old daughter, Violet, has become her anchor during this dark period of her life. She even went on saying that she and Violet have become roommates.

She also made an amusing revelation, saying that when she cannot sleep, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler get her mind off trouble.

She said, "God bless those girls. I used to think I would never watch television on my phone, but there I am, because I am sleeping next to my daughter."

Garner was also gracious enough to say that people should not hate her ex-husband, Ben Affleck, because she did not hate him. She concurred that he might have exercised bad judgment, but her eyes were "wide open" during the marriage.

"Miracles from Heaven" will hit the theaters on March 16.

In the film, she plays Christy Beam, a woman whose daughter was suddenly cured of a chronic stomach disorder after falling from a tree.
