"NCIS: Los Angeles" season 7 has been all about facing the past recently. Kensi's ex-fiance made an appearance last episode, just as she and Deeks had decided to move in together. Now Callen, Sam and the rest of the team go undercover to gain more information about Arkady Kolchek.

The police procedural drama took a one week break, probably due to the Iowa caucus but will return with an episode that promises intrigue and glamour. A synopsis for episode 15 hints at the team looking for information on Arkady's (Vyto Ruginis) location in Russia. According to Christian Today, the retired KGB agent had previously worked with Callen (Chris O'Donnell). At one point, he was even blamed for the deaths of several NCIS agents but ultimately proved to be someone that can be trusted.

The team will apparently enlist the help of Arkady's daughter, Anna (Bar Paly), as they go undercover at a prestigious gala in Los Angeles to gain access to the Russian Consul General's computer.

"NCIS: Los Angeles" is a bit stingy in sharing details about the upcoming episode, "Matryoshka," but a YouTube video showing some promotional stills gives fans a sneak peek of the team. One thing that fans would no doubt notice is how good Sam (LL Cool J) and Callen clean up. Photos show the two garbed in snazzy suits as they arrive at the event with Anna. There's also a photo of the beautiful blonde dancing with Callen. Fans will recall that the two were linked together at one point in the series. Kensi (Daniela Ruah) and Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) are also at the affair but have low-key role as servers. The clip also shows the "NCIS" team backed in their usual get-up, standing among shipping containers and running with guns drawn.

"Matryoska" is an interesting title for an episode of a police procedural. But episode 15 does deal with the Russian Federation and a matryoshka is closely associated with the country. Perhaps the writers chose to name the episode after the popular Russian nesting doll because of the different layers of intrigue and secrets the team might be facing.

Episode 15 of "NCIS: Los Angeles" season 7 is set to air on Feb. 8.
