'NCIS: New Orleans' season 3 episode 9 spoilers: Team dives into the world of auto racing

Pride (Scott Bakula) and his team will work on a case involving an amateur race car driver in the upcoming episode of "NCIS: New Orleans."
In the episode titled "Overdrive," the synopsis (as found on TV Guide) reveals that a Marine corporal has died while taking a spin in his race car. While others rule it as an accidental death since he was a newcomer to the sport, the NCIS has reason to believe there is foul play involved. The squad will have to make a thorough investigation on who has the motive to kill the corporal. The murderer is out there, but the pieces of evidence that could point to him are still murky.
Based on the promotional photos released (as found on Spoiler TV), Pride and the others are shown on the racetrack. Dr. Wade (CCH Pounder) is examining the corpse while Sebastian (Rob Kerkovich) and Percy (Shalita Grant) are combing the place for evidence. Sebastian has a pondering look on his face, as if imagining what really happened in the fatal crash. He seems unconvinced that it was an accident, based on what he is seeing.
Last episode, viewers saw the heartbreaking story of a young man who lost his beloved aunt. The Navy petty officer was found murdered in the home she shared with the boy. He was the only witness in the case, but the NCIS had difficulty getting answers from him. The kid was traumatized and he could only communicate through his music. He was dubbed by his teacher as a musical prodigy. He was also a very sick boy.
The squad had no leads to the killer until he made a huge mistake. Fearing that the boy would talk about him, he kidnapped him. During the negotiation, Pride coerced him to give them the boy because he needed to be treated as soon as possible. When the culprit's phone rang, Pride and the others realized that his ringtone was the same song the boy was playing on his trumpet after his aunt died.
"NCIS: New Orleans" season 3 episode 9 will air Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 10 p.m. EST on CBS.
