'NCIS' season 12 spoilers: Gibbs and Bishop head over to Afghanistan to rescue a marine in episode 21

(CBS/Facebook)

Season 12 has certainly been action-packed so far and fans should continue to expect the same as the team faces new challenges. The upcoming episode sounds quite interesting as Bishop and Gibbs head over to Afghanistan.

In episode 21 titled "Lost In Translation", the team investigates the murder of a marine in Washington D.C, reports Yibada. During the investigation, they realize this is the work of a terrorist group and isn't just a one-man job. Leroy Jethro Gibbs and Eleanor Bishop take a trip to Afghanistan, where the group is located. However, the team quickly realize that another marine's life hangs in the balance in Afghanistan and the duo must race against the clock to save his life. Can Gibbs and Bishop prevent the murder of another marine's life?

There will also be some light-hearted comedy and sub-plot with DiNozzo and McGee. DiNozzo learns that Timothy McGee is the new face of NCIS on recruitment brochures and his picture is on every marketing tool. He gets upset and jealous when he sees McGee modelling and feels bad that he was chosen to be the face of NCIS recruitment rather than him. In the promotional video, McGee is seen modeling in a leather jacket and sunglasses as he poses for the pictures. Bishop is also seen in a sticky situation as she faces some of her worst fears in the upcoming episode.

As "NCIS" gets closer to its season finale, viewers are wondering what to expect. Last season's finale episode was relatively cliffhanger-free as the team honored the late Ralph Waite who played Jackson Gibbs on the show. However, fans shouldn't be expecting the same as showrunner Gary Glasberg told TVLine that, "I think I'm going to try and rattle people a little bit!"

Episode 21 airs on Tuesday, April 14 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
