The game is inspired by the manga series with the same title that appears in Weekly Shonen Jump since 1997. An anime series has also been made including movies. The main protagonist of the story is Monkey D. Luffy, who sets out an adventure with his crew known as the Straw Hat Pirates.
Once an oridinary and awkward young man, Luffy developed rubber-like properties upon eating a Devil Fruit. Their crew is set to look for the treasure known as One Piece, which will declare the owner the "King of the Pirates."
"One Piece Burning Blood" is a pure fighting game, and as such, players may choose from a variety of characters from the protagonists to the antagonists.
Characters appear in different timelines in the source material and some of the playable characters have appearances to choose from as well. Game is developed by Spike Chunsoft Co., Ltd and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment.
