There is still no official word from Madhouse studio regarding the completion or release of the anime "One Punch Man" season 2. However, there are rumors that it will be delayed to make way for season 1's English-dubbed episodes.
According to reports, Toonami, the American anime distributor, has confirmed to release the English-dubbed episodes of "One Punch Man" season 1 on July 16. After the announcement was made, heaps of rumors circulated online that the second season of the anime's release will be pushed back. However, there are rumors that it will be released sometime in October.
There are also rumors revealing that season 2 may not even be released anytime this year because the manga's creator Yusuke Murata is more focused on a new project. He may invest more time in the new manga for "Weekly Morning," which already came out last June. If he sets aside his work for "One Punch Man," then it could affect the creation of the anime version as the production may face lack of source material.
The upcoming season 2 is expected to run for more than 12 episodes to accommodate the storyline of the manga's nine volumes.
There are speculations that the protagonist Saitama will be fighting against three mega villains — Garou, Lord Boros, and Amai Mask. The upcoming season may feature Garou in the Hero Hunt arc. Plus, there are talks saying that Lord Baros will finally return and Amai Mask uncovers the secret behind the mysterious strength of Saitama. Other reports also suggest that Saitama will start a bit off in season 2 as he loses his super strength that made him the One Punch Man.
The season 1 finale saw Saitama in a battle with Lord Boros. A lot of the people thought it would be the end for Saitama because of Boros' immense power. However, he came with an unexpected and incredibly powerful punch that saved his life. However, the battle with Lord Boros may not end there.
More about "One Punch Man" season 2 will be revealed soon.
