OnePlus Two (Lettuce), the successor of OnePlus One, has been given a green light from the company's executives Carl and David, but fans will have to wait a tad long for its release date slated within the second to third quarter of next year.

"OnePlus 2 should be out in Q2 or Q3 of 2015. We've seen a lot of people asking for a smaller device, and want to let everyone know that we hear you. We're thinking about it," Carl responded during the AMA session via Reddit.

Apart from the OnePlus Two specs being smaller, he then confirmed that the smartphone will likely to run on Android L.

They also shattered rumors that they have already started with the development of OnePlus Two.

"We're just working on the OnePlus One for 2014," Carl said.

During the same session, the OnePlus guys were asked if they would be interested to join the wearables bandwagon, especially after a OnePlus Watch model and sketches appeared online.

They answered only with a "smile," which most people took as a "yes".

OnePlus is an upstart from China of which its current affordable smartphone, OnePlus One, runs the CyanogenMod operating system, a user-made version of Android OS.

The first smartphone was unveiled last April, and the company has released a pre-order warm-up by way of 20,000 invites for the OnePlus One.

The invitations were posted on Friday, and disappeared up in thin air in no time.

OnePlus One, dubbed as the company's killer flagship, sports a 5.5-inch JDI 1080 full HD display with 401 pixels per inch, 13 MP rear-facing camera, 5 MP front-facing camera, up to 64 GB storage capacity and powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with 2.5 GHz.

It runs CyanogenMod 11S based on Android 4.4.

OnePlus One is available in two colors: Silk white and sandstone black.

It currently sells from $299 to $349.
