'Prison Break' season 5 rumors: Yemeni government, ISIS behind faking Michael's death

While it's already public knowledge that Michael (Wentworth Miller) did not actually die in "Prison Break" season 4 and has just been imprisoned in Yemen all along, it is said that a terrorist group and the Yemeni government were actually the ones responsible for intentionally faking the death of the character.
According to the latest buzz online, Michael Scofield had always been a target of the Yemeni government and the international terrorist group ISIS, which, eventually, compelled him to fake his death on the show's supposed last and final season some years ago. As to how and why Michael ends up in a Yemeni prison, though, no one outside "Prison Break" season 5 knows for now.
However, it is also said that while in prison, Michael is left without a choice but to seek the help of the untrustworthy T-Bag (Robert Knepper) and his connections to inform his brother, Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell), that he is alive and of his whereabouts. Because of this, it is now suspected that "Prison Break" season 5 will boast of bigger excitement and actions as Michael and Lincoln will be going against formidable foes: The Yemeni government and the ISIS.
It was in 2009 when the season 4 finale of "Prison Break" was aired, which also served as its series finale. In the said episode, Michael was electrocuted while facilitating the escape of his wife, Sara (Sarah Wayne Callies), from prison, which resulted in his death. However, late last year, fans were treated to a pleasant surprise when it was announced that "Prison Break" would return for a season 5, which is meant to tie the loose ends that its season 4 left.
"I would describe it as a bit of a sequel. It picks up the characters several years after we left them in the last season of the show. The brothers will be back. Some of the iconic characters from that show will be back," said Fox CEO Dana Walden back in August last year.
Although "Prison Break" season 5 was originally slated for a 2016 release, the return of the beloved series to the small screen has been pushed back to 2017. Nonetheless, as of this writing, there is still no definite air date for "Prison Break" season 5 as, reportedly, Fox is still waiting for how its existing shows will fare.
