'Salem' season 3 episode 8 synopsis, release date: Residents of Salem work together to prevent impending doom

WGN's supernatural fiction drama series "Salem" ends with season 3. The show returned last Jan. 4 from a brief hiatus, and it is down to its last three episodes.
As revealed in a synopsis for "Salem" season 3 episode 8, titled "Friday's Knights," mortal enemies will find themselves working together to achieve a common goal. With less than 48 hours until hell breaks loose, citizens will be setting aside their differences in order to prevent a tremendous catastrophe.
The teaser for the episode shows Mary Sibley (Janet Montgomery) working with John Alden (Shane West), Cotton Mather (Seth Gabel), Isaac (Iddo Goldberg), and Sebastian Marburg (Joe Doyle).
With three episodes left, fans are wondering why Countess Marburg (Lucy Lawless) was featured in the teaser. Will "Salem" see Mary face the Countess for the last time?
For the uninitiated, The Sentinel (Samuel Roukin) intends to burn Salem using the angel tears. In the episodes to come, viewers will see if Mary and the group succeed and whether or not Lucifer is dead for good.
To recap the preceding episode, Mary got Sebastian on board her plan to kill the devil (Oliver Bell). The latter was successful. And little did Mary know that Sebastian had a plan of his own. He used the devil so the Essex witches will destroy Lucifer. In the episode, the witches gave up their lives so Mary will gain the power to destroy her son.
Viewers might see Lucifer revive in the episodes to come since his presumably dead body was last seen being dragged by a suspicious figure. The mysterious entity placed his body in a bag, and left the scene.
"Salem" season 3 episode 8, titled "Friday's Knights," airs on Wednesday, Jan. 11, at 9 p.m. EST on WGN America. The next episode, titled "Saturday Mourning," airs on Jan. 18.
