'Sleepy Hollow' season 3 spoilers: Ichabod Crane to spend premiere episode in jail; show will be getting a reboot this season
"Sleepy Hollow's" third season is just a few days away and fans can't wait to see what the show's alleged changes will bring. The series is touted to be getting a reboot after its disappointing season two run.
Although fans had issues with Fox's belated promotion of the supernatural drama, the trailer, along with some stills from the season, hopefully was able to assuage some of those hurt feelings.
One change that fans immediately noticed was Ichabod and Abbie's new haircuts, which looked very similar to each other.
A recent Twitter post also showed one surprising change – Ichabod in prison. The post shows the time displaced Ichabod wearing prison orange and its caption that "Ichabod's in quite the predicament in the premiere," had fans wondering what he did now, especially as a Border Patrol officer can also be seen.
Regardless of the reason, it does set the stage for what is being described as a fun season, which is very welcome after the serious turn the series took last time.
According to reports, in the premiere episode "I, Witness," Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) and Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie) are both trying to find their place in the world. Abbie is finishing up her FBI training while Ichabod is traveling. But the discovery of an ancient and mystical tablet hints at a disturbing prophecy in store for the Witnesses. The two return to "Sleepy Hollow" and with the help of an amulet, continue fighting against evil.
The network is hoping for a renaissance for the show, who lost viewers during its sophomore season. To that end, a new showrunner, new cast members and a new direction have been put in place.
Season two ended with the much welcomed exit (for fans) of Katrina Crane (Katia Winter), Henry's (John Noble) death and Capt. Irving's (Orlando Jones) departure. Newcomers Betsy Ross (Nikki Reed) and Pandora (Shannyn Sossamon) will take their place. Occasional wendigo, Joe Corbin (Zach Appleman), has been promoted to series regular while Abbie will have a new boss in FBI agent, Daniel Reynolds (Lance Gross).
Fan favorite, Jenny Mills (Lyndie Greenwood), is also back in a more permanent capacity. It has been reported that Abbie's sister, who had a rough life so far, is also trying to move on and establish a better life for herself. She will allegedly be getting a job, and one that will allow her to help her sister and Ichabod more effectively.
"Sleepy Hollow" season three will be back for more haunting episodes on Oct. 1.
