'Suits' season 5 news: Harvey struggling with new work arrangement after losing Donna; new faces in the cast
The fifth season of "Suits" will be back on air in just a few days, and the show's loyal fans are just dying to know how the new episodes will play out, especially since some interesting spoilers have been making the rounds.
The new season will pick up right where they left off, with Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) getting engaged to Rachel Elizabeth Zane (Meghan Markle). Meanwhile, Harvey (Gabriel Macht) remains at odds with Donna (Sarah Rafferty) after she agreed to work for Louis (Rick Hoffman).
The official synopsis of the season's first episode does reflect the strain between Harvey and Donna as each try to adjust to their new work situation. Harvey's work suffers without his former secretary while Donna deals with working under Louis.
Rafferty admits that her character Donna will have a "complicated" life this season, especially since "Harvey and Louis aren't necessarily playing nice with each other, so she finds herself stuck in a way."
In casting news, fans will be introduced to Dr. Paula Agard, Harvey's therapist who's helping him deal with his personal issues. Portrayed by Christina Cole, Dr. Agard will reportedly have a substantial part to play this season, whether as Harvey's love interest or the catalyst for him to get with Donna.
John Pyper-Ferguson is also on board as Jack, the head of Pearson Specter Litt's compensation committee who has to work with the feuding partners.
There is also news that basketball player Charles Barkley will be making an appearance. The NBA legend will be guest starring as himself in the third episode of the season.
Fans should not expect the show to put much emphasis on Mike and Rachel's wedding preparations though. But they will see a lot of interaction between Mike and Rachel's father (Wendell Pierce) as he tries to win his respect.
This very modern take on a legal drama show follows the story of Mike Ross, a brilliant lawyer who never went to law school. He starts working as a law associate for Harvey Specter, a renowned New York City lawyer, who knows Mike's secret but is impressed with his innate skill and eidetic memory.
"Suits" season five will be back on Air on June 24.
