Nintendo has recently revealed new details regarding the latest and upcoming DLC update for its popular fighting game "Super Smash Bros. 4." Nintendo has confirmed that the newest character joining the "Super Smash Bros. 4" lineup would be Cloud Strife, one of the protagonists of  the "Final Fantasy" game series.

Cloud Strife is the first character to be added since the inclusion of Ryu from "Street Fighter" last April. The upcoming DLC will also include Chocobo costumes for Mii Fighters.

A short action trailer has been released giving gamers their first look into Cloud Strife in battle. In the video, Cloud Strife is seen battling iconic Nintendo characters like Super Mario, Sonic the Hedgehog, Pac-Man and several Pokémon characters. He is seen in various battle arenas. Gamers are also given a glimpse of his Odin Summon move.

Nintendo has not revealed a release date for the upcoming DLC but did announce that more information will be coming this December. Many news outlets are speculating that the fourth wave of DLC may be released after the last Nintendo Direct session this month.

Fans of the "Super Smash Bros" franchise are also still waiting for the results of the Fighter Ballot. Based on a subreddit forum, one of the top contenders is Shantae – a half-genie from the "Shantae" game series developed by WayForward Technologies.

Regarding the possible addition of Shantae, co-creator Matt Bozon had this to say, "I think stylistically she'd be a good fit, being something that exists somewhere between Mega Man and Peach. I'd hope she could recover in Harpy form, or maybe pull off some incredible dance and transformation for her Final Smash! I would love to see this happen, and if not now, then some time in the future!"

Shovel Knight was also considered as a top contender for the Fighter Ballot however, his addition to the roster has already been dismissed by the game developers at Yacht Club Games.

"Super Smash Bros. 4" is now available for the Nintendo 3DS and the Wii U. Stay tuned for the latest announcements.
