'Supernatural' season 12 episode 11 synopsis: Dean is hexed, loses his memories; Sam teams up with Rowena to save Dean

In season 12 of The CW's fantasy horror TV series "Supernatural," the show has been placing its well-loved protagonists in the spotlight for the past few episodes. In an upcoming episode, the spotlight will shift from Castiel (Misha Collins) to Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles).

As revealed in the synopsis for "Supernatural" season 12 episode 11, titled "Regarding Dean," the character will be cursed with a spell that will rapidly erase his memories. The more memories he loses, the more childlike he becomes. Before he completely loses his memories, his brother Sam (Jared Padalecki) will find a way to save his brother, and, in doing so, he will seek the help of the powerful witch Rowena (Ruth Connell).

In the episode, the pair will track down a family of powerful witches to undo the spell. The family comes from a long line of witches that date back to the old world, and, from the looks of the trailer, they are the only ones who can help Dean out.

In the trailer for the episode, Dean's memory loss starts when he realizes that he could not recall events from the night before. Sam is quick enough to realize that he is hexed. Meanwhile, Rowena can also be seen in the trailer, but, unlike Sam, she likes this carefree version of Dean more. It seems like she is having more fun with the present Dean. She even tells Sam, "Dow we have to fix him?"

As for Castiel, he is nowhere to be seen in the trailer. After last week's big reveal about the angel's past, little is known about Cas' current situation and his fate.

"Regarding Dean" was written by Meredith Glynn and directed by John Badham.

Supernatural" season 12 episode 11, titled "Regarding Dean," premieres on Thursday, Feb. 9, at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
