Daphne (Katie Leclerc) will blame boyfriend Mingo (Adam Hagenbuch) for the predicament she will be in at the upcoming season of "Switched at Birth."

As per the teaser released by Freeform, both Daphne and Bay (Vanessa Marano) are back in Kansas in the new installment. Last season, they received an urgent call, asking them to return from China. The mystery of who called and why is expected to be cleared in the premiere episode. There have been rumors that the caller was Kathryn (Lea Thompson) and she wanted the girls to come home because she would be divorcing their father, John (D.W. Moffett).

With Daphne and Bay back on home turf, they cannot wait to explore and relax with the family. Daphne will also reunite with her boyfriend whom she has not seen for a while. In the promo, she and Mingo are shown to be attending a party. They are wearing costumes. Mingo is sporting a Lil Wayne inspired outfit, whereas Daphne has on a bright purple wig. Both are excited as they took a picture which they shared via social media.

Later on, one of the party's organizers approaches them and says that what they are wearing is a huge insult to the black community. Their photo is also getting a lot of negative comments, calling them racists. Daphne cannot believe she is becoming the object of so much hate. She is wishing she had not returned home. It is possible that this will trigger a fight between her and Mingo. If not for him, she will not be in the kind of situation she is in now.

Meanwhile, fans of the series will have to wait a little longer for the premiere. As per TVLine, "Switched at Birth" will not air on Jan. 24, but on Jan. 31 at 9 p.m. EST. Freeform has recently announced the delay. The final season is expected to feature the drama's 100^th episode. For the finale, the network has prepared a 90-minute special.
