'Switched at Birth' season 5 spoilers: Will Bay find a job as a tattoo artist in Kansas?

Bay's (Vanessa Marano) career as a professional tattoo artist may die a sudden death once she returns to Kansas in the upcoming season of "Switched at Birth."
Fans of the Freeform series will have to wait just a little longer, as the much-awaited new episodes will be released starting in January. Promo photos of Bay and Daphne's (Katie Leclerc) time spent in China shows they have enjoyed every minute of their stay there. As per TV Guide, Bay applied for a job as a tattoo artist and was accepted. Daphne, on the other, worked in a medical clinic. The two even got matching tattoos, perhaps to celebrate their freedom from parental supervision.
Bay and Daphne, however, will soon be called home to Kansas. During the last finale, Bay received a call that sent her running to Daphne. The mystery is expected to be revealed in the premiere episode. Speculations claim that the caller might have been Kathryn (Lea Thompson) who wants to tell her girls something important about their father, John (D.W. Moffett). In the promo, both Daphne and Bay wish they did not return home. Whatever they will find waiting for them in Kansas, it looks like they will not like it one bit.
Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see if Bay will continue being a tattoo artist in Kansas. Her parents will likely be horrified if she asks them to finance a shop for her. Now that she has finally achieved her dream, will she just give it away?
Some of the show's fans will also like to know what will happen to Bay's love life. Travis (Ryan Lane) professed his love for her last season. She broke up with Emmett (Sean Berdy) when he betrayed her, but there have been hints that he will return to win her back.
"Switched at Birth" season 5 will air on Jan. 31, 2017 at 9 p.m. EST on Freeform.
