'The Flash' season 2 episode 18 spoilers: Hunter Zolomon's story revealed; is Barry finally faster than Zoom?

The long overdue showdown between The Flash and Zoom is almost here. But is Barry finally fast enough to take down his nemesis?
"The Flash" did a little bit of time-traveling in the previous episode. Fans will recall that in "Flash Back," Barry (Grant Gustin) traveled back in time to when Hartley Rathaway attacked the team in a bid to get Dr. Harrison Wells' (Tom Cavanagh) help in solving the Speed Force equation.
With the information he got from his time travel, Barry appears to be all set to confront Zoom (Teddy Sears). According to the synopsis posted on the Comic Book Movie site for episode 18, now that he has the tachyon device, Barry believes he's finally fast enough to stop Zoom. Wells advises him not to open the breaches, but Barry convinces him. Wells then reveals that Cisco (Carlos Valdes) "has the power to re-open the breach." Fans will also be learning more about Hunter Zolomon's painful past.
Viewers got brief glimpses of this said past in the trailer for "Versus Zoom." The clip starts with a shot of Jay Garrick giving his helmet to a young boy, followed by a scene of Zoom jumping through a breach. Cisco can be seen wearing his Vibe goggles, while Barry moves to shield him. Zoom takes off his mask to reveal Jay's face. An angry Barry shouts at him that he doesn't care how many people he killed and Zoom agrees that he doesn't.
There are scenes showing Wells revealing that Zolomon is a convicted serial killer, Zolomon being executed via electric chair, and later transforming into Zoom. The clip ends with Barry boasting that he can take down Zoom. The villain says "you can't." His voice changes as he tells Barry that "you can't lock up the darkness."
It will be interesting to see how Barry will fare this time around. However, some fans are worried about the upcoming confrontation as they still don't believe that Wells/Eobard Thawne of the past timeline will really help Barry willingly. Some have posited that Thawne might have found a way to sabotage the tachyon device.
All will be revealed when episode 18 of "The Flash" season 2 is aired on Apr. 19.
