'The Walking Dead' season 6: star Andrew Lincoln talks about Rick-Jessie romance

Aside from how Rick will deal with Morgan's arrival at Alexandria, another thing that "The Walking Dead" fans are feverishly anticipating is whether Rick will finally find love in (now) single mother, Jessie.
When Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Jessie (Alexandra Breckenridge) first met, their attraction to each other was so strong that fans immediately felt it.
When asked by TVLine whether Rick has moved on from his wife Lori's death in season three, the actor gave a tentative "I think so."
Unfortunately, there was the not-so-small matter of Jessie being married to the abusive Pete in season five. But with Pete now dead (courtesy of Deanna and Rick), fans are wondering how this will affect the dynamics between Jessie and Alexandria's constable.
"It's never easy dating in the apocalypse," the 41-year-old Lincoln jokes. "There's a slight bump in the road with the dating. I think the next candlelit dinner could be problematic. We've got a bit to talk about."
The "Love Actually" star then got serious and admitted that one of the best challenges in playing Rick Grimes was that he gets to explore different aspects of the character each season.
He is brutal but that there is compassion in him," Lincoln continues. "And I think that it would be weird that after a significant amount of time not to be able to open your heart."
Lincoln also says that in season five, Rick was not too eager to be part of Alexandria's community and that "Jessie is one of the main reasons that he changes and softens and starts to believe that this is a viable future."
While Rick might have a crush on his pretty neighbor, a lot of fans are shipping Rick and Michonne (Danai Gurira), a pairing that even Lincoln's mother supports.
"I think there are certain people that he has respect and love for, and he owes his life to," Lincoln says. "And Michonne is one of those people who can call him out, as we saw this season, and he will listen."
Like the rest of the world, the actor is also intrigued as to how (if ever) that would go.
