The Toronto Raptors are undoubtedly contenders not just in the Eastern Conference but in the entire National Basketball Association. However for some, the team's lack of a front line player who will improve their defense is preventing them from fully becoming title favorites. If they aim to address this, a potential target is Orlando Magic forward Serge Ibaka.

When it comes to offense, the Raptors have no issue, especially since they're led by the All-Star backcourt duo of DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry. But their defense can still improve and Ibaka might be the answer.

Ibaka is known in the league as a defensive specialist due to his ability to protect the rim. Howeve, aside from this, the 27-year-old has an excellent offensive game. His experience is also a noteworthy attribute since he spent his first seven seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder, which has been a contending team in the past years.

The Raptors would definitely have an upgrade in Ibaka who together with the likes of center Jonas Valančiūnas and fellow forward DeMarre Carroll can lead the defense.

In a possible scenario, the Raptors will add Ibaka by sending a package deal of Terrence Ross and Patrick Patterson to Orlando.

This is a good deal and is something that will work financially, which means additional pieces are not required.

It would be interesting to see Ibaka play alongside DeRozan and Lowry in Toronto. They can even be the team's version of a Big Three.

But the Magic may be unwilling to participate in this one because they made a major sacrifice just to get Ibaka in the off-season.

In exchange for Ibaka, the Magic sent rising guard Victor Oladipo, veteran forward Ersan Ilyasova, and the rights to rookie Domantas Sabonis (2016 11th overall pick) to the Thunder back in June.
