AMD Ryzen release date, news: Leaked review measures new processor's performance

Tech enthusiasts are in for a treat in the coming year as the industry is set to launch new developments into the world. AMD, one of the market's leading semiconductor companies, has been getting a lot of attention as of late because of its upcoming Ryzen processor. And much to fans' delight, a purported review of the new processor has been leaked.
According to Wccftech, a trusted French tech magazine called Canard PC Hardware has published a review of the upcoming AMD Ryzen. Hardware expert Doc Teraboule was the one who conducted the review. The publication further notes that a base clock of 3.15 GHz, a turbo all-core of 3.3 GHz, and a turbo one-cor of 3.5 GHz were used to measure its performance.
The test was used with the following programs: Encodage HB H.264 & H.265, WPrime, PovRay 3.7, Blender 3D, 3DSMax 2015 / Mental Ray, and Corona Benchmark. And according to the French review, the AMD Ryzen exceeded expectations. It was able to go beyond the six-core HEDT Intel Core i7-6800K. It is also an improvement from the FX-8370, which is AMD's previous iteration.
The AMD Ryzen was also used in gaming, using such titles as "Far Cry 4" and "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt," to name a few. However, the processor was quite a disappointment in this area. It notes that Intel's counterpart performed far better than the AMD Ryzen.
According to Forbes, AMD's upcoming Ryzen also has to face Intel's new breed of processors — the Kaby Lake lineup. The publication explains that AMD seems to have the ability and resources to match Intel, but the former also has a few tricks up its sleeve when it comes to "enthusiast-orientated technology."
Tech fans are undoubtedly excited for the release of both companies' processors, but AMD's new entry into the market seems to be getting a lot of traction. However, since it has yet to arrive, fans will have to wait a while.
