Android Lollipop 5 update for HTC: Rolling out on HTC One M8 developer and unlocked versions

HTC's goal to bring the Android 5 update to HTC One M8 within 90 days from November 3, the date of release of the source code, has been fulfilled as the update has already become available on HTC One M8 developer and unlocked versions.
Though HTC missed the January 3 deadline for the M8 and M7 updates, a recent HTC Vietnam leak has confirmed that Android Lollipop update for the two HTC flagships will be completed by January. According to a recent tweet by HTC leaks expert, LlabTooFer, the HTC One M7 will get an Android 5.0.2 update soon but that could be the last major update for the M7 flagship.
The HTC One E8 and HTC Desire Eye will receive the update in February. The HTC Butterfly 2 is in line for a February update as well. The busiest time for HTC Android Lollipop updates will be in March with the HTC Desire 816, HTC Desire 820u, HTC One Mini 2 and HTC One Max lined up along with the Chinese versions of the HTC One E8 and HTC One M8 Eye.
Owners of the HTC Desire 820s, HT Desire 510, Desire 610 and HTC One Mini will have to wait longer as these devices are last in line. Depending upon the progress of the plan, these devices will get either a late March or an early April update. Even if there are delays, all these HTC phones can be expected to run on Android Lollipop version 5 by the beginning of the second quarter.
HTC's new flagship HTC Hima (One M9) will come with the latest Android update. According to rumors, HTC plans to finish all Lollipop updates by April so that it can start issuing updates for a new version of the Sense UI from May.
HTC One M8 Lollipop screenshots show new animations and lockscreen notifications area. New button press effects and multitasking view will be added. An Easy Mode, like in some entry level Samsung phones, are also expected to be added to the HTC Lollipop devices. The overall result will be simpler and easy to access features.
