Asus ZenWatch 2 specs include Bluetooth and WiFi support

Smartwatches are all the rage these days. And it's not just because of the Apple Watch but also because of the many Android Wear watches currently available in the market. The challenge now is how to choose a watch that's not only trendy but also affordable. Fortunately, a new smartwatch now fits the bill.
Asus introduced the ZenWatch 2 back in June. A direct follow-up to last year's ZenWatch, the latest Asus watch corrects the mistakes of the first one, while retaining what made it good.
ZenWatch was a popular choice for smartwatch users for its nice, non-computer feel design. It was a fashion item on top of being a new-generation gadget. But most users complained of the hidden button that made it nearly impossible to use.
That button is now on full display on the Asus ZenWatch 2. The latest release comes with almost the same great design as the first one but with a crown button to the design, similar to a traditional watch.
Fans of the original release will also love to know that they now have two choices at hand. Just like the Apple watch, it now comes in two sizes: the smaller 45.2 x 37.2mm model and the bigger 49.6 x 40.7mm. The small one, obviously, has a smaller battery of 300 mAh, while the bigger has a 400 mAh battery. Each lasts for two days and two days and a half, respectively, when in ambient mode.
Whichever model one chooses, they will get the Snapdragon 400 processor, 512 MB of RAM, and 4 GB of internal storage. The screen size may be different but both are AMOLED displays. Connectivity has also been improved and it now comes with Bluetooth 4.1 PLUS WiFi support.
The ZenWatch 2 will also be something that can survive most landscapes and weather conditions. It is IP67-certified, which means it's dustproof and water-resistant. Note, though, that IP67 means it is only good for a quick dip in the pool or some minor water splashes but still not good enough to take diving.
Even so, the Asus ZenWatch 2 promises to be worth every penny. Available in gunmetal, rose gold, or silver plus a variety of interchangeable straps (18mm for the smaller model and 22mm for the bigger model), this latest watch will sell in October for approximately $170 and $190.
