"Battlefield 5" is one of the most anticipated game releases from Electronic Arts (EA) and DICE, which continues to be a hot topic of the rumor mill. Here are facts and rumors about the first-person shooter game.

Release date

There is no exact release date announced by EA or DICE, but in 2014, the company confirmed that the game won't arrive until late this year. Recently, EA Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen provided a timeline for "Battlefield 5's" release at a Morgan Stanley Technology, Media and Telecom Conference held last month. According to Jorgensen, the game should arrive sometime between September and December.

Gameplay details

Details about the "Battlefield 5's" gameplay are scarce but Jorgensen teased at the 2014 UBS Global Technology Conference what fans can expect from the next game installment. "That will be a return to a Battlefield military-style game; more to come on that," the CFO said. Jorgensen also shared that the team is developing the game to be a "fun, new Battlefield."

Back in 2013, before the current game, "Battlefield 4" was released, DICE already hinted that "Battlefield 5" will be more destructive. Speaking to The New York Times, game executive producer Patrick Bach said that fans should expect "More features. More extras. More destruction" from the next game.

Rumors

The game's release date is subject of various rumors, which only shows that fans cannot contain their excitement about its arrival. Recently, a game listing for "Battlefield 5" was spotted at a German site, which indicated that the game will be released on Oct. 26 this year. Of course, this has not been confirmed by DICE or EA, but it somehow fits the fall release timeline set by the company.

The same listing also described that "Battlefield 5" will be a "Multiplayer tactical shooter in WW1."

Nothing specific has been dropped at this point, but all fans should know is that "Battlefield 5" will arrive just in time for the holidays. The 2016 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) is all set for June and it's assumed that EA will make a big announcement about "Battlefield 5" during the event.
