Big Bang Theory season 8 spoilers: Did Sheldon board that train?

On the season 7 finale of the Big Bang Theory, Sheldon was seen in a train station following an incident with Leonard, Penny, and Amy. The show's producer gave light on the reason behind such an ending.
Season 8 of Big Bang Theory is coming up, and yet fans cannot get over the fact that Sheldon might have to spend some time away from the rest of the cast as depicted in the season 7 finale. One of the show's producers, Steve Molaro, released some insight to why Sheldon was seen in a train station in that controversial episode.
"We thought it would be interesting to take an episode and sort of systematically chip away at Sheldon and break him down to the point where he just needed to leave to process everything," said Molaro, as reported by The Epoch Times. Sheldon came into a breaking point after his job was jeopardized, and when Penny and Leonard asked him to move out of the apartment.
Molaro added that Sheldon's future is in the hands of the writers and the producers, who are returning to the writer's room quite soon.
"As of now, he is off riding the rails like a hobo," continued Molaro in the same post.
Meanwhile, the award-winning actor who plays Sheldon Cooper talked to TVLine about Sheldon's infamous train scene. When asked if Sheldon could have decided to run back home, Jim Parsons gave vague details about what happens next.
"I never thought of that, but you're right — he could show back up at home immediately, couldn't he?" said Parsons.
"Nobody will tell me. I don't know if they know yet. They may know, but I really don't know if they do," finished the actor.
