Blackberry is having a stellar quarter and it has been reported that it is on track to be profitable next year; and one major factor that has worked in its favor has been the popularity of its Priv smartphone. Here is how this latest device from BlackBerry compares to the iPhone 6s Plus phablet from Apple.

Design

The iPhone 6s Plus has an unbeatable lead when it comes to design, as its metal unibody gives it a great look and feel. Additionally, the design makes it very sturdy. There is a fingerprint scanner incorporated into its home button. As for colors, there are four on offer: gold, silver, gray and rose gold.

Coming to the Priv, it has better features, such as a screen with two curved edges and a physical keyboard that slides under it when it is not in use. Also, the curved edge can be customized to display panels, which can be used to quickly access apps and even the battery percentage when the device is plugged in. As for its build, the handset has a metal frame and fiberglass on its back panel. However, it does not have a fingerprint scanner and only comes in black.

Display

Both these devices have almost similar-sized displays. The iPhone 6s Plus comes with an LCD screen measuring 5.5 inches, a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 401 pixels per inch. Additionally, it has 3D Touch technology, which can sense the amount of pressure being applied on the screen by the user. As for the Priv, it has a better quality AMOLED screen measuring 5.4 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 540 pixels per inch.

Specs

When it comes to hardware, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset on the Priv is coupled with a hexa-core CPU and an Adreno 418 GPU. However, the Apple A9 chipset on the iPhone 6s Plus is faster and it is coupled with a dual-core CPU and a PowerVR GT7600 GPU.

Memory

With no memory slot on the smartphone from Apple, external storage cannot be added. The Priv, on the other hand, supports up to 200 GB. When it comes to RAM, the Priv has 3 GB onboard and the iPhone 6s Plus has 2 GB.

Camera

The iPhone 6s Plus has a 12 megapixel camera with OIS and the BlackBerry Priv has an 18 megapixel version with OIS.

Price

In terms of price, the BlackBerry Priv has a price tag of $250 with a two year contract and the iPhone 6s Plus costs $299 with a similar contract.
